About Me

Lisa Brekke, PT, DPT
I am a licensed Physical Therapist in the State of Iowa and obtained my Doctorate from Sacred Heart University in Connecticut.
I am a board-certified clinical specialist in neurologic physical therapy with extensive training and certifications in several specialized areas, including brain injury rehabilitation, vestibular rehabilitation, and advanced manual therapy techniques. I hold certifications as a Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS), and I have completed both Level 1 and Level 2 training in Dry Needling (IAMT), as well as Craniosacral Therapy (Michigan State University).
With a passion for delivering evidence-based, client-centered care, I focus on providing comprehensive treatment that addresses not only the physical challenges of my clients but also their emotional and psychological well-being. My approach emphasizes collaborative care, working closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure that each patient receives holistic support and individualized treatment plans that align with their personal goals and recovery needs.
Through compassion, understanding, and a commitment to lifelong learning, I strive to empower my clients to overcome obstacles and enhance their quality of life following neurological injuries or disorders.
I started Brekke Rehab Consulting to help provide mentoring and education for healthcare professionals who have limited to no access to professionals to assist in their clinical reasoning and critical thinking in regard to this patient population. I also assist out of state clients in obtaining collaborative care services in their state.
Why Mentoring
Collaborative care and mentoring empower healthcare professionals to think more critically, treat more confidently, and grow more sustainably in their careers. When clinicians have access to expert guidance and a supportive partner in problem-solving, they’re better equipped to navigate complex neurological presentations, make stronger clinical decisions, and deliver patient-centered care. Mentorship creates space for reflection, skill development, and real-time feedback. This elevates both provider competence and patient outcomes. It’s not about adding more work; it’s about building clarity, confidence, and connection in a field that is constantly evolving.
