Migraine Wellness Program

Living with migraine is about more than managing symptoms when they occur. The Migraine Wellness Program provides a structured, practical approach to understanding your migraine patterns and building sustainable habits that may help reduce symptom frequency, severity, and impact on daily life.

This self-paced program, that can be completed over 6 months, focuses on the lifestyle and behavioral factors that influence migraine including sleep, nutrition, hydration, stress, activity, and nervous system regulation, so you can develop strategies that fit your life and support long-term wellness.

1. Understanding What Is Migraine

Build a foundation for understanding your migraine experience.

Migraine is more than just a headache. This section helps you understand how migraine affects the nervous system, why symptoms can vary, and what may influence your individual migraine threshold.

You'll learn about:

  • What migraine is and how it affects the brain and nervous system

  • Common migraine symptoms and presentations

  • Migraine phases and patterns

  • The concept of migraine threshold

  • Why migraine symptoms can change over time

  • How to recognize your individual patterns

  • When additional medical or rehabilitation care may be appropriate

2. Lifestyle Management

Build habits that support your brain, body, and nervous system.

Migraine management isn't about creating a perfect lifestyle. It's about identifying practical changes that support consistency and help you better manage the demands of everyday life.

You'll explore:

  • Sleep and consistent sleep routines

  • Hydration

  • Nutrition and regular meals

  • Caffeine and other lifestyle factors

  • Physical activity and movement

  • Stress management

  • Rest and recovery

  • Nervous system regulation

  • Creating sustainable routines that work for you

3. Triggers & Self-Advocacy

Understand your triggers and become a more confident advocate for your care. Migraine triggers are highly individual, and avoiding everything that might trigger symptoms isn't realistic or necessary. This section focuses on identifying meaningful patterns while learning how to communicate your needs and advocate for appropriate care.

You'll learn how to:

  • Identify your personal triggers and contributing factors

  • Distinguish triggers from symptoms and underlying patterns

  • Use symptom tracking without becoming overwhelmed by it

  • Recognize early warning signs

  • Communicate effectively with healthcare providers

  • Prepare for medical appointments

  • Ask informed questions about treatment options

  • Advocate for accommodations at work, school, and in daily life

  • Build confidence in managing your migraine

4. Long-Term Care

Create a sustainable plan for managing migraine over time. Migraine management is not a short-term project. The goal is to develop the knowledge, skills, and strategies you can continue using long after the program ends.

You'll develop:

  • A personalized migraine wellness plan

  • Strategies for managing flares and higher-demand periods

  • A plan for getting back to your routine after a setback

  • Long-term lifestyle strategies

  • A personalized toolkit of management strategies

  • A plan for communicating your needs and advocating for care

  • Guidance on when to seek additional medical or rehabilitation support

The goal: Leave the program feeling more informed, more confident, and better equipped to manage migraine as part of your long-term health.
